Task 2 - Post - Poster Design

I admire poster designs as its simple job to create a poster design but it can challenging to create a poster that is appealing as a stand out unique design. I think this poster design works well as it has an interesting subject matter and appears to take influence of swiss design style using angled typography and structures which are geometric which is appropriated with a grunge edge.

Task 2 - post - The Loop

The Loop is a social network for inpiring and professional designers in order for them to gain employment and connect with other designers of the same nature. I think the concept for this website is a great idea as it can be difficult finding employment so this website serves as a great alternative that can benefit and ensure the success of many more aspiring designers. The site could in fact change the face of the design world with application of online design porfolios and specific design network system.

Task 5 Trade Magazine - Desktop

Desktop Magazine looks to bring the latest in the design world. Graphic design, illustration and film are the three pillars it stands for. The magazine focuses on the lastest design solutions and designers, bringing inspiration to aspiring designers and certainly established designers themselves.

One of my favourite article found in Desktop Magazine was the insight look into into the Illustartor and typographer Peter Hoffman - Inside the Glaushaus. I was draw to this article as i loved Peter Hoffmans insanely deatiled illustration style and looked to his work as inspiration.  The article explores his Hoffmans journey from his studies back home in Germany to his success as freelance designer in the US. Hoffman talks about working under his Glaushaus design banner and sights the particular motion that design provides him with as his motivation.

Starting out in 2003, The Keystone Design Union strives to recognize and unite the worlds top creative talent. Their goal is to bring together the most accomplished Creative Professionals; established and emerging Artists and Designers, Photographers, Marketing and Communications among others to create and become the leaders in design. KDU works great as a source of inspiration as they introduce u to many designers aswell as show u an insight into the buisness with case studies and developemnet into their work.

Marc Ecko worked personally with the KDU to develop a wide variety of identities and concepts for his global fashion empire. Everything from apparel to fragrances were addressed and visually explored.
I like the collaboration work between Marc Ecko and KDU as it creates a nice grunge and graffiti style design. Its something unique with many different forms within the typography and adds something new to the usual generic surf/skate style designs.

Task 4 - Art Exhibition - Art Express

Perturbian by Yasmin Mc Call examines the mental and emotional state of the modern teenage society. Taking inspiration from Jill Greenberg's controversial End of times Yasmin explores her teenage world of emotions and explores the vunerablity of teenagers as journey through to adulthood. Yasmin emphasis this with use of strong lighting and digital backgrounds. This artwork took my eye at art express as i was compelled to know why these people were state of of emtions. The strong lighting and digital backdrops make this work very compelling and the size were factors that drew my intrest to this artwork.

Task 9 Influencial Designer - David Mascha Illustration

David Mascha is an Austrian graphic designer situated in Vienna, I originally noticed his work when i came accross his design 'Milk' which struck me as it had an unusual colour scheme of jet black and cream white the design was bold and captured my attention. Mascha style is quite diverse the piece featured above demonstartes his great illustration skills however his portfolio ranges from subtle to bright and vibrant but they're all bold in their own way. I chose the follwoing artwork (Invisible now) as i love his use of illustration and the amount of detail he is able to incrporate as he focuses on the focal features in the characters face. The suble use f the green paint dabs give the work the final touch adding balance as it would appear bland in just black and white.

Task 3 - Art of The Digital Age Review

The Book Art of the Digital Age takes an in depth look into the different practices of Digital art and the impact it has had on trational art styles in creating new branches such as Digital Animation, Virtual Reality and Digital art. The book author Bruce Wands is a key figure in the Digital age of art, studying and teaching for the past 20 years in the industry.

I enjoyed this title particularly the chapter on Digital imaging, the artwork shows a great variety of workss ranging from unique to really impressive. The artworks displayed from Charlse A. CSURI caught my eye particularly his piece HORSE PLAY, (a horse composed of ribbon-like threads that reflect and cast shadows) this work inspired to investigate Digital Imaging and left an impression on me.

Overall I found the book quite interesting it shows a great show a great range of works and showcases the industry greatly for anyone who is interested for that reason i'd recommend this book to any of those people. The only negative I would have for this book is that it dosn't shasre nay imformation about the different artist although it is very informitive on the ranges of styles and artworks.
